Maria Patricia V. Azanza. PhD. Director, DOST – Industrial Technology Development Institute (ITDI), welcomed abaca fiber stakeholders during the center’s 115th anniversary. She articulated that one of the myriad researches, finding ways for a greener environment, is a priority. The project for automotive applications being launched today, Tryk ni Juan (roofs made from composite locally abundant abaca fibers) is one such accomplishments with Korea Institute for Material Science which she is very proud of.
“It gives me great honor to lead a highly motivated and innovative institution like ITDI. Since its founding in 1901 it continues to thrive and has been ably pushing forward science and technology to where it is now. It is because we believe in our resources’ capability — our employees, scientists, technical experts backed up with state-of-the art facilities that enable us to sustain our business and services.”

This year another milestone… as Tryk ni Juan (abaca fiber composite tricycle roofs) is launched by ITDI-DOST and KIMS-ASEAN or the Industrial Technology Development Institute – Department of Science and Technology, Korean Institute for Material Science – Association of Southeast Asian Nations
