Frustrated by stupid client criticism, Irish graphic designers Mark Shanley and Paddy Treacy decided to turn their “favorite worst feedback” into posters. The guys worked together on so-called “Sharp Suits” series with a team of other ad creatives, designers, animators, directors, illustrators and more, who must’ve all appreciated a chance to let out some of their exasperation in a creative way.
Have you ever heard someone told you that your work looks a bit off? Seems a little too simple? Not really interesting? These are common comments you can here around people who like to criticize other people’s works. The most annoying thing about it is that you would hear it from people who really doesn’t know about the principles of design or even advertising. They just want to see something that only looks great for their own point of view never really cared how others would think.
The other sad part is that as the designer you could not tell your clients that this or that would be too much? Or may not look good if printed in something? and etc. Sometimes clients tend to ignore designers suggestions and go with the “I feel” kind of thing when looking at someone’s design.
I find Mark Shanley and Paddy Treacy’s posters creative at the same time an outlet for them for their client criticism frustrations. Making art out of stress 👍

It’s very hard to please a client especially if you have better ideas than them. I think it’s best if you could have a very comprehensive meeting with your client, discuss what you want, don’t want, what the want, and what they don’t want. It’s very important to hear each other out, to avoid conflicts and errors.
